792 : In Tokyo

Nov 21, 2008 21:07

     At long last, I'm actually in Tokyo, to visit Yasuko and sightsee.

I should really be writing this entry in my travel blog, but I'm about two weeks behind, so I don't have the energy to play catch-up right now. T.T

Backing up.

I woke up and went to school to take my unit exam in Japanese. T_T I know of at least two answers I got wrong... T.T;

After that, I rushed off hurriedly toward Tokyo. I had to switch to the kintetsu line from Tambabashi to Kyoto Station, but... I went on a train I shouldn't have. -_- So I had to pay an extra 500 yen. X_X; So I ended up arriving at Kyoto Station over an hour early.

I explored Isantan, a random ten-story (and EXPENSIVE) mall in the station. Then I went to nervously try to catch my shinkansen.

That was fine; I got on, and dozed part of the way. Arriving at Tokyo Station is where things got confusing, because I had no idea which line I was supposed to take. After asking two people who told me two different things, neither of which being what I'd have expected from the map Huey gave me, and getting lost in Tokyo Station (that place is BIG), I managed to get onto a train to Ueno, then transfer to another train to Minami Senju Station. T.T;

Getting out there, I couldn't figure out which direction to start walking. I knew the way if I knew which direction to turn. -.- So I went to a Family Mart, and they weren't sure, and got confused, and got themselves turned around. XD I felt sorry for them. An employee finally managed to point me in the right direction, so I went. After that, reaching the inn was a piece of cake.

Anyway. I really only came downstairs to use the inn's internet to kill an hour or two, because I really didn't want to go to bed before 7 PM, even though I was dead tired. The last few nights, I haven't been sleeping well, for some reason. And with how much I walk everywhere in Japan, I get worn out and need more sleep here than I did in the U.S. Sooo... my head's pounding. XD Hello, headache, how are you?

Anyway, it's 9 now, so I think I'll retire to bed. Hopefully I get more sleep tonight before wandering around Akihabara, Odaiba, Asakusa and Shibuya tomorrow.

(I'm so psyched-- now that I'm actually [temporarily] letting myself relax and spend money, it's awesome to have a friend who has money, too! She's totally willing to go to some niiiice places, like Christon Café or Alcatraz. She wants to go to at least one, but possibly both if we can fit them in! Sooo wicked!)

School kind of really sucks right now, but I'm trying to not let myself think about it. T_T; I don't want to spoil the weekend. So, that's enough on that. ^_^;

Oh, yeahhhh, bed. Going to sleep now. Bye-bye. ^_^;
