I think.
Well…yeah, I am happy ‘bout Simon and Serenity and the crew…I mean we’re this kinda strange family ‘n all. Yeah, things get rocky sometimes - can’t go on ‘n forget bloody too - but in the end we all bring somethin’ to the ship. We make Serenity a home for each other.
When Inara left it felt like something was missin’, same when Sheppard Book and Wash died. I don’t rightly think that anythin’ll ever be the same after that.
Sheppard always said that everything had a time, a place and a reason. I reckon he’s right ‘cause he’d never go on ‘n lie to us. He’s always been right ‘bout things too. Thinkin’ bout him makes me miss him somethin’ awful.
But now back on’ta what I’m happy about…
River…well she’s still messed up from what they did to her but she’s better since we left Miranda. She doesn’t talk as crazy as before ‘n all. She looks at you and not through you no more. Which I’m quietly glad for because as much as I love her like a sister it always kinda put me on edge.
Inara’s back home, her and the Cap’n’s finally started to tear down that gorram thick brick wall they built ‘tween them. ‘Bout time I say.
Speakin’ of time…
Took nearly two years but Simon finally decided to be a might selfish for a second and made a move. What a move that was… amazin’. It was more vivid then anythin’ I coulda conjured in my bunk…
I do feel a might guilty bein’ this happy after we lost so much but if we’re all miserable then that doesn’t make life worth livin’. The one’s that are left behind need to be happy for the one’s that aren’t here no more. It make’s you wanna live life for the one’s not here anymore.
I’ve always been happy here on Serenity, it’s been home for so many years. She’s brought me bad times and trouble along with some great times that I won’t rightly forget anytime soon.
‘Reckon I’ll be happy as long as I’m here on this ship.
