So I'm considering AP 3-D Studio Art for senior year. It seems mighty tempting. But I'm hesitant, I will assure you. Currently I'm looking at Collegeboard's baby version, MyRoad. I looked under Visual Arts and it's not very motivating:
Whether you practice a fine art, like what you see in museums and galleries, or a commercial art, such as narrative film or fashion photography, you'll require stamina, hard work, talent, skill, and even faith. If you can answer yes to the following questions, you may be suited for a career in the visual arts:
* Can you imagine living happily on a very small budget and often needing to supplement your income with part-time, low-paying jobs?
* When people talk about "material things" do you think of art supplies?
* Are you thick-skinned enough to take harsh criticism, but sensitive enough to respond constructively to it?
* Do you have the determination and discipline to persevere with your work even when the going gets (extremely) rough?
* Are you willing to schmooze to get your work exhibited or to get a job at a studio?
Now how is that going to enthuse potential artists? Collegeboard, you better get on that. I am slightly ashamed.
I went to International Night. It was amusing. As always. For being a minority, I'm pretty frightened of minorities. But perhaps because I am washed with white. Oh well. I made this Guava and Mango Shake to represent my Spanish Honor Society side. And get hours for National Honor Society. Some people liked it. Some people didn't. I'm cool with that. I really want to take AP Studio Art. EEP! So many choices. So impacting. I think if I do decide to take AP Art, then I'd drop BC Calc and take AP Stat. Good idea? Yes I think so. Mum's getting me a tutor because I'm not doing so swell in AB calc. I'll admit, I didn't do anything in Precalc and now it's slapping me in the face, but I would like to do better now. Isn't that enough? No, it wouldn't be. Sigh. Math has won.
Anywho, I'm about to take another practice SAT with school class. I'm not improving at all which is nice and interesting. After 2 more classes and a thousand more books, I increased about 30 points? That means nothing. Maybe today's a good day. We'll see. I wish school could kiss my ass. But until I give up (again), I am going to kiss the ass around here. You cannot stop me.
