the trujillan soccer game... could have been one of the worst sundays of my life.
think about spending an entire afternoon with jarred at his finest on a busride to freaking portugal... about 2 hours away... screaming and inciting more screaming from children and adults alike... there... at the game... and all the way back to trujillo. there was a brief 10 second interval of peace where i thought that maybe hell was over... but no.... he was just clearing his throat for more singing and yelling and gah!
the game was alright though. nene (sarah´s brother) played a great game and we won 2-1. good stuff boys. (oh, and brittany´s future husband, diego, scored two extremely fantastic and amazing goals!)
i got home and my mom made me kiss her cheeks and give her a hug because i hadn´t seen her in three days. i need to learn to be more affectionate, because i definitely didn´t even think of saying anything other than "hola" as our first meeting in days. oh well.
i woke up early because we were headed for Córdoba for our first stop in Andalucia. We went to the Mezquita. When I get back to Trujillo I´ll upload some pictures.... it was absolutely gorgeous. My pictures do not even do it justice. We didn´t have much time to spend there though, and we left for Granada.
I LOVED Granada. I had a low-key first night in Granada. We ate dinner as a group and I forgot to tell the waiter I was a vegetarian... so when the meals came out I told him that I was and he said OK. Then 20 minutes later I still hadn´t received food and the other veggies had, so someone at my table told another waiter and he started yelling at me and then he yelled at my professora and then she told me I should have told someone and I said I did... and I must´ve been tired or something, but I broke down!!! How embarrassing! And I couldn´t stop... even when I didn´t want to cry. And then people kept on looking at me and it made it worse. Then I burst into uncontrollable laughter amidst my crying and that just took forever to regain my composure. I made sure to tell the waiter EARLY the next day so there wasn´t a repeat. In the morning we woke up early to go to see La Alhambra. Oh my god, it has got to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. The outside, the inside, the views.... enough to make me cry.... almost? Then we had to walk back to the hotel... basically find our way because we didn´t have a map or anything... so we decided to shop while we went.... and got scammed at a restaurant.... and ultimately made it back to get ready to go to the Flamenco.
I LOVE flamenco. So much fun! Then we took a walking tour of the old arabic part of Granada and saw a nightime view of La Alhambra... then we got attacked by rats. Gross!
This morning we took a 2 hour (really 5 hour) busride from Granada to Sevilla and I finally got to use my beloved internet.
Gotta run so I can figure out my weekend...
Hopefully my boys will meet us there so we don´t ahve to worry about bus money back to Trujillo!
¡Hasta!
Love and miss yas!!!!
