So I'm sick - and laying around all weekend doesn't seem to have made me any better. Okay - so I did go out dancing with nephthys43 on Sat. night, but that was necessary for my mental health. I must say the set list was not as stellar as normal - fucking Journey ( Read more... )

What the...?! Women can vote n.o.w.? angryjonny November 6 2006, 16:03:54 UTC
I never thought I'd be voting red (state), but I cannot- in good conscience- cast a vote for Menendez. If TK, jr. has even a tenth of his father's integrity he'll make an incredible senator regardless of his political affiliation. So, with a heavy heart, I'm sad to say that I'll most likely be voting Republican on that particular seat unless my newfound morals take hold and I cast a vote for Leonard Flynn.

Conga-rats on the masters, by the by :) As for the celebration, while it may be in January, you can't overlook the simple pleasure of a toga party... especially since it will coincide nicely with the second season premiere of HBO's Rome.

The New Jersey Senate Race is such that I wish "None of the Above" was a choice. My problem with Kean is all I've heard him do is talk about Menendez, so I have no idea where he stands on anything. And not having lived in this state that long, I'm unfamiliar with his father. *SIGH*

I hear you on this one. I don't hope to convince you to vote for TK, but he is in favor of embryonic stem cell research (big plus), against providing amnesty to illegal immigrants (also a plus), is in favor of promoting and expanding AP courses in NJ high schools (+!!!!), and he's fiscally conservative which is always nice to hear. Of course, he's a politician so any and all of these positions may be overturned on a moment's notices, but I think he's the best bet in the senate race.

I am leaning this way as well, although I live in NY I am still registered in NJ and will vote simply because my family is still here.

Of course the last time I wasn't all that pleased I cast a vote for Mickey Mouse, although it seems a wasted vote the more people do it the more displeasure is shown for those 2 parties and someone somewhere will take notice...of course it will probably ne a Disney lawyer...

yeah, I was stuck home for Thursday-Sunday night ill, and avoiding contact with folks. I did get one chain project done, and a fair amout or computer games played. But Bored Silly most of the time.
I have been hitting up the web sites of the major players in the races here, and while I normally vote 3rd party, I may have to go TKjr as well. Mainly for reason jonny pointed out. Immigration is a hot button with me currently, and While I do support more public services to be state funded (emergency services funded by taxes and not bake sales!), I also support the legal borders, and those who currently enter here under legal means.
Anyway, not to turn this into a Concord000 rant.

yeah...a true rant would have been bullet-pointed with full references, and then touching on 5 related topics to support the original (with links).
