That... I'm glad it seems to be over. Under control. A considerable relief, although at least Elena and I were able to talk while we were both recovering. I still have quite the headache, I admit - and know more about some of you than I would prefer.

... What is this about Schuldig being missing? How long has he been gone?

Did you miss the part where I said I was on medical leave? You need to postpone all portions involving the puppets for at least two weeks. The gate, definitely that long.

... I did. Two weeks? If what Valeria tells me is correct, I'm not sure I can wait that long.

What happened?

I had surgery for ulcers. That's not to leave your mouth. It's bad enough Vati had to advertise my pain everywhere.

Anyway, it's far too soon for me to even consider trying to move that many puppets. They have tags, but not for that amount of work. I would have to write up new ones, invest new chakra, which will work my body too hard. In ten days, I can return to work.

Of course. Consider it forgotten, Sasori.

The Iron Sand, however... Is there any possibility you could sustain that alone? Manpower can be found within Shinra, but the Iron Sand is quite pivotal. We can make up for lost time on the puppets by bringing the Sand in early, allowing the gate to complete construction while the Sand blocks the water flow rather than using both simultaneously.

Provided the area that I am located in is secure, clean and nontoxic, yes. In order for it to work like that, however, I will need plain sand - the river works - placed everywhere that you need it.

However, on the ring around the building, I don't need it. I already put it there. You know, when I still had the job I liked?

For the river, put a board across it with the sand sprinkled on top. This should be easy, considering there's a half-finished bridge over the main sewerline.

Of course, and thank you. I'll deliver a message as soon as it's done and requires implementing.

... And get well soon.

If my condition worsens, it's you I'll kick in the balls. Entirely personal.

I want Schuldig.

I suppose that's incentive for me to come and nurse you, then. I'm told I have a wonderful bedside manner.

As do I.

No, that's okay. I'm on the upper level, anyway, and visitation rights are screened by my roommate who doesn't like anyone but me.

At least you can do something about it.

Pity. I'm sure I can work up a broth to forward to you, though. I'll even taste-test it at the door if he's troubled about poison.

Something I can't do without your assistance.

Don't tempt me to frame you.

Wesker does not have Schuldig. Schuldig has not pissed Wesker off.

I can't recommend it. It didn't work terribly well when I tried it. Though, I'm far less reputable these days; you might enjoy better fortune.

Wesker isn't our only target, and he certainly won't be the only one suffering from a lack of water. Anyone who doesn't get our alert - and it will be blocked from all of our current threats - will be in the dark about it. That's why we need such a considerable force to defend ourselves. If they work together, they won't make it easy on us - but we have powers, and force of numbers. They don't.

That went over my head entirely.

Hojo has Jenova, his own brain. Wesker has T-virus at his beck and call, and he can infect whatever the hell he pleases. I watched him do it. You watched him do it. Moreover, only Rufus and I have cures. "Daylight". Did you bother to read my report?

Nothing of consequence, I assure you.

Yes, I did, but I'm nevertheless confident in our ability to overcome them. Jenova and the T-virus have both shown to take quite some time to convert their victims. In a warfare situation, it's about the instant kill, a quick finish; they don't have the time or the power to subdue any of us for long enough to get a good strike at our veins, not if we're grouped, and even if they got one, they'd be swamped in seconds. They're no fools; they'd never take the risk.

Wrong. T-virus takes possession of animals - such as insects, like I witnessed - in seconds, minutes. Purgatorium has plenty of monsters, but there's a problem. They're scared. Where are they? I haven't seen one, even on the upper level, in a long time. The monsters are scared.

There is that, but there's little to be done for the situation. I know we have at least one who can erect barriers, though how proficient those will be about keeping out the animals, I don't know.

This is our chance to drag him out. Unfortunately, there is nothing to be done to compensate against all risks, particularly with our general lack of manpower. Though, one wonders if traps couldn't be placed near to the gate, to weaken any surprise attacks and thin their number before they reach us.
