Writing an essay on Shakespeare whilst listening to 'Sweet Home Alabama' is one of the weirdest juxtapositions ever. Specially when you are trying to find a way to fit a William S. Burroughs quote into said essay...
So at work today my manager told me I have a week's worth of paid holiday. Since I am only part time and am not going away any time before the end of March he's going to put them through in one big lump, so I should get an extra £200-odd in my next pay slip. Winner! Now, common sense would tell me to save it or spend it wisely on necessities. Common sense can take a flying leap. I'm with
Marten on this one. Unfortunately I won't get much guitar for £200, at least not good guitar. I could get an amp, but really I have no need for a more powerful amp right now. I want
one of these. When I saw Broken Social Scene the support was one of the (many) BSS guitarists with just his axe, his voice and a Boss Loop Station. It is a beautiful thing and will allow me to pursue the dream of performing my own songs in a semi-complete manner without the need for all those pesky backing musicians.
