So, Nashi, the pro-United Russia youth movement that may or may not be responsible for all the DDoSings we've been having, has unveiled the "White Apron" anti-corruption campaign. As part of the campaign, the female participants released - get this - a pin-up calender. Called "Sex Against Corruption/Love Against Hate," it features attractive girls and slogans that sound like 30s era Soviet propaganda mixed in with United Russia campaign literature.
For those of you who can't read Russian (which is... most of you), here are the translations of the slogans:
May 2011- I will not marry a [corrupt person]June 2011 - Letting them saw is against my principles ("sawing" is reference to slag expression "sawing money" - which pretty much means getting a cut of somebody's money)
July 2011 - I give kickbacks - in their face!August 2011 - I will make it without bribesSeptember 2011 - [I will] teach them how to live without bribesOctober 2011 - I build without [money under the table]
November 2011 - Envelopes [should be] only for lettersDecember 2011 - [I will] cure your corruptionJanuary 2012 - [I will] reeducate a grifter (which really sounds more sinister in English than it does in Russian
February 2012 - [I will] drum you out for [giving] bribesMarch 2012 - The hunting season has begun Of course, the notion of any United Russia affiliated organization being serious about fighting corruption (that doesn't benefit them) is laughable, but you got to give them credit for creativity.
