Sans Everything blog has an interesting look at
depiction of gays and lesbians in 1930s-1940s comics. They were never explicitly identified as such, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out the very obvious implications.
Meanwhile, over at
Awful Library Books (a blog dedicated to dated books found in public libraries), we have a
1944 book designed to educate Protestant churchgoers about the strange and unusual creatures called Jews. At the time, it was actually kind of progressive, but these days, one can't help but either roll their eyes or face-palm at the whole thing. We've certainly come pretty far in the past sixty years.
