"We can dance again" (in Chicago)

Feb 11, 2022 21:23

Yesterday, I was coming back home after a long school board meeting in the suburbs. Since it's one of those suburbs where the Pace bus schedule peters out to almost nothing after 7:00 PM, I ended up taking the Metra train to downtown Chicago and went to catch the Brown Line 'L' train up to Rogers Park.

While walking, I was listening to the latest episode of A State of Trance, one of the defininitive radio shows for fans of trance (and trance-adjacent electronic dance) music. As the show got to the Track of the Week, I wasn't really prepared for them to play the track I've never heard before. Something called "We Can Dance Again" by ASOT host Armin van Buuren, Reinier Zonneveld & Roland Clark.

Its celebration may be a bit premature (We'll see) but dancing to this on the quiet evening LaSalle street felt cathartic as hell.

And yes, ladies and gentlefolk - of course I danced to this like no one was watching. Why does that in any way surprise you?
