I meant to do it on the actual day, I swear I did, but... Well, I don't need to tell you, out of all people, how busy mentally exhausting the profession you dedicated so much of your life to can be. Especially when some links in the editorial chain are... less than ideal. Nonetheless, I wanted to write something before your birthday gets too belated.
I hope you got a chance to actually celebrate your birthday, and celebrate it well. I'm glad the past year brought you some joys, in spite of everything, and I hope you'll get plenty more in this direction, especially with your impending trip to your Motherland.
