Happy 4th of July linkydump
Happy 4th of July to all my American readers... which is pretty much everyone. Me, I still don't feel too sentimental about it, but I do enjoy partaking in the celebrations. As usual, there are plenty of fireworks being launched from people's back yards, and there will be fireworks down in Chicago, but I am not going there because it's bloody crowded and the entire Chicagoland transit system has slowed to a crawl as it is.

Kenosha streetcar themed T-Shirt designs. I have to say - they are actually pretty damn imaginative.
And finally, two links for tweelore - a pretty decent fanfic based on the most recent Star Trek movie and an article about common Canadian healthcare myths (in other words, talking points I wished I had on hand back when we would argue about "socialized medicine"). I would be verly surprised if it actually convinces her (she is kind of die-hard about capitalist primacy and she loves being right (but then, don't we all)), but I hope that it will at least give her something to think about.
