A Chicago time lapse video that goes beyond the usual sites

Oct 23, 2016 09:05

As the Chicagoist article put it, "Finally, a Timelapse Video of Chicago That Goes Beyond the Lakefront."

It's not that I mind all of the Loop-based timelapses, but after a while, part of you can't help but protest. There's more to Chicago then that - especially if you are someone like me, who's seen most of the city at some point or another, and know that there are a lot of beautiful sites out there.

Now, don't get too excited - most of this video are still classic downtown Chicago sites, but it's not all of them. That's still progress. Photographer/filmamker Josh Beavers gave some love to Chicago's industrial areas, and places like Chinatown and Bronzeville. Plus, I think this is the first timelapse video I've seen taht showed the city in the winter, and during a snowstorm (!), which in on itself deserves props.
