Holiday Trains on the Yellow Line. Yes, Holiday Trains. Plural

I don't think I've ever written about Chicago 'L' system's Holiday Train on this blog - though I did put together a photo set about it a couple of years ago. To try to make a long story short, the idea is charming in its whimsy and relative simplicity. Every year, between Thanksgiving and New Years Eve, the Chicago Transit Authority runs a special ( Read more... )

Great photos! We visited the Holiday Train at the Kimball Brown Line Station.

Cool. I usually try to catch the Red/Purple Holiday Train, but between chemo and work, I just didn't have the time.

Did you guys actually ride the train or just take pictures with Santa at Kimball?

We just took photos with Santa. The train was at Kimball from 11:30am to 1pm. That first hour was for photos with Santa, and during that time the train doors were all shut, as they were only to open them that last half hour before leaving the station. Well, we wrapped up with Santa around 12:30pm, but the doors still weren't open, and the station had become very, very crowded with people wanting to check out the train. We decided to split. :)

Hope you're doing better with the treatments.

I would, too, if I were in your shoes.

Thank you. I don't know if you've seen my health update post(s), but my last chemo was December 12. I got a CT scan scheduled for next Friday, and the results should be in about a week later. My doctor is optimistic that chemo did what it was supposed to, but I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed until the results are in.
