Me Being a Geek
Any one on my flist watch Numb3rs because I totally had a Charlie Eppes moment today and it just made me giggle to think what a math Geek I can be. Guess it's why I enjoy that show.
So here’s what happened:
I'm in Birmingham today helping mentor several projects and these projects require lots of statistics which is why they wanted me there in the first place. They give me the data and i help figure out what it means and how best to utilize it..
I'm sitting at the table watching the production manager present this raw data on the projection monitor and suddenly the epiphany hits and I know how to statistically present their info in the best way. I am completely excited. I jump up and start gesticulating at the big monitor and ordering the guy at the computer to move data around etc. All the while explaining exactly what I am doing. The guys watching are amused but attentive and I realize at that moment I am channeling Charlie. Being the TV addict that I am I made the Numb3rs reference and the plant manger laughs because he knows the show and agreed adding that all I needed was a blackboard.
So in honor of my Numb3rs epiphany. I wrote my first fic in that fandom. It's posted over at ncis_flashfic because I took Abby along for moral support. Abby And the Mathematician
