Idolhead no more
After ten years of American Idol obsession, I have given up on it. I actually haven't watched one minute of the new season. The judges are terrible and the whole system is broken. I hated the country teen finale last year and the way they treated Haley Reinhart was shameful. Lucky for me there are other - better - singing competitions. (and I don't mean xfactor - blech)
The Sing-off (on last fall) is one of the best competitions. I hope it's coming back next year but I haven't heard. The groups have amazing talent and the judges offered real constructive critiques. Pentatonix won and they were terrific. I can't wait for their album.
The Voice is so much fun. The judges are so much better than Idol. Their banter feels real and it's funny too. best of all a contestant from the old Rockstar competition made Blake's team last night. Jordis Unga was my favorite back then and she crumbled under the pressure - I'm excited to see what she can do with this second chance.

Pentatonix - "The Dog Days are Over" Hard to believe this is all A cappella.
Yes I probably watch too many of these singing competitions but I love listening to the talented ones!
