I'm sure you are just dying to know which TV shows I am wasting spending my valuable time watching this summer.
So in honor of the return of Leverage last night, I thought I'd do a Summer roundup. If you are not watching Leverage you should be. It is easily the best show on TV right now: The humor, the cons, the twists, Eliot's hair...
Shows under their cuts in case anything could be considered a spoiler
Leverage
I adore this show! Eliot's hair was looking particularly soft and shiny So many good moments. Eliot's exploding crotch - I believe it - that boy is hot! Hardison crushing on Parker. The way the four won't let Nate off the hook until they draw him in and he knows what they are doing but goes along anyway - over fake protests. This episode was more about the team getting back together than the case. I like that Sophie wasn't pining over Nate and that she's got a boyfriend. I think it's great that Nate is like the harried school teacher who can't control his class but then his class isn't misbehaving really; they are just very energetic. The ending where they took over not only his apartment but Hardison bough the building was hilarious. So I guess the show is moving to Boston. Again if you are not watching leverage - please explain to my why not because you should be!
Burn Notice
I still love this show. The banter, the action, the yogurt!! I still think Fi is too Skinny. But I adore all things Bruce Campbell - He makes the show for me - and look forward to him every week.
Eureka
I still miss Nathan Stark but the show is fun. I do wonder why just about every female character is pregnant - must be something in the water. I am a bit tired that every episode is about some tragic scientific mishap that might lead to the end of the world - It's starting to get a little redundant. I miss the Carter Nathan banter - they really need to get the Sheriff a new nemesis. I did like robot Sheriff Andy - he was just a good ol' boy and it was a nice twist that he decided he was not cut out for law enforcement except as Carter points out that's exactly what he was programmed to do. As always my favorite character is Henry who as the mayor once again saves the day only this time he just got Carter back his job - no real earth saving going on! Most likely he'll save the world next week - it's what he does best.
Warehouse 13
A cross between X-files and Friday the 13th - the series. The two FBI agents are definitely supposed to be Mulder and Scully. She the skeptic and he's the one with the intuition. Instead of Aliens they chase down supernatural artifacts and return them to a big warehouse in South Dakota. I'm not feeling the chemistry between the leads - their banter seems a bit forced. That being said I am enjoying the quirkiness of the warehouse and it's curator played by Saul Rubinek and last nights episode was much more interesting than the pilot. I do like the Steampunk feel to the show - a stun gun made by Tesla and a computer that looks like an old-fashioned typewriter. Steampunk is the new fantasy genre and the show does a nice job with the gadgets, so for now I'm sticking with it.
Make It or Break It (MIOBI)
I am such a silly fangirl. Because of Anthony Starke (Ezra Standish - Mag7) I am watching this cheesy little teen show. He plays Steve Tanner the father of one of the main girls and I have to admit that their story line is actually interesting. The girl who plays his daughter, Lauren, is a very good little actress. Ultimately, the show is a fun guilty pleasure but I am pretty sure I wouldn't be enjoying it half as much if Ezra wasn't in it. Besides I'm still waiting for Vin Tanner to show up. If you are interested my version of MIOBI you can find the latest episode of The Uncle Vin Show by following
this link Misc other thoughts:
I tried watching 'Royal Pains' - it seemed contrived and the lead guy was lacking the kind of charisma that I think is needed for this kind of character driven show. So I won't be tuning in again.
I've heard that Dark Blue is good but I missed the premiere - may have to DL that
I can not wait for Psych to start up again in August. I bought the first two season on DVD and I am getting my snarky Shawn-Gus banter fix that way.
I am still giggling over the Scifi channel's change to SyFy - it just seems so ridiculous. I admit it I'm watching the stupid channel even though they pissed me off - and i am probably gonna watch Stargate:Universe too. I know I'm weak - it's not my fault I am a TV addict after all.
As always I want to know what you're watching and enjoying!!
