Oneonta Gorge

My best friend R and I went hiking in the Columbia River Gorge area at a place just past Multnomah Falls, called the Oneonta Gorge. It was absolutely beautiful and exactly what I needed for my soul! We got a great work out and brought some yummy cheese and fruit to snack on. When we got to Ponytail Falls I was so excited. We actually walked behind the falls on the trail and got to hang out at the bottom of the falls around Oneonta Creek. I'm so excited to swim there in the summer- right under a waterfall! This has become one of my new favourite places in the world! I thought of Dark Huntre a lot... I usually do when I experience something beautiful. I trust one day I'll get to share this beautiful place with her.

I looked up information about the Oneonta Gorge hike and found the following hiking tip: "The best way to see the inside of Oneonta Gorge is to put on sneakers and wade knee-deep up the creek from the highway bridge. In late summer when the water's not too deep nor too cold, it's usually possible to trek half a mile through the 20-foot-wide chasm to an otherwise hidden, 100-foot falls. This adventure is not for the faint of heart, however, because the route sometimes involves clambering over a logjam or wading a chest-deep pool."

I really want to do this! It sounds like it would be a fun adventure and I love a challenge... Not too mention experiencing the beauty of hidden 100-foot falls.
