What have you done to my whole wide world?

She loves her baby. So tiny and perfect, just so small and so helpless. If she's not careful she can lose sight of the tiny form in all the pink that surrounds her. She's so fragile. Delia can't believe how fragile she is. Like a porcelain doll that is pink with blood and life. She can make out the little features, she can count her fingers and toes and she can even make out the tiny eyelashes that rest against her cheek.

She is the most beautiful thing in the world and shes all Delia's. No one will ever be able to take her little girl away from her. No matter what.

Delia sits on the hospital bed and rocks the tiny bundle and she coos and she sings because that's what real mommy's do to their real babies.

She's a real mommy and she's holding her first born child, a little girl. So tiny, so weightless. They named her Silvia because that's a beautiful name, and a beautiful little angel should have a name that fits her.

Silvia is an angel, that's what everyone tells her. Delia knows she's an angel because they keep telling her that her little girl is in heaven and only angels go to heaven.

Silvia is the most perfect little angel that ever was and every time someone comes in to see her, Delia smiles and shows her off. "She can't smile yet," she tells them, "but we still love her because not all babies need to smile."

Not all babies need to smile, or to laugh, or to cry, sometimes they can just be and that will be okay. Especially for Delia. Delia will always love her little girl, no matter what. She'll never let go of her little angel.

Delia can't understand why people keep crying, and not happy tears but sad ones. She can't understand why people keep hugging her and telling her that she'll be okay and that they are sorry. Delia can't understand why the doctors keep taking her baby away and she can't understand why Danny's heart is broken.

She doesn't understand why she feels so empty and lost. Why she can't stop crying and why she can't stop wailing for her little angel. She can't understand why she can't have her little girl.

Delia can't stop asking: "Where's my little girl?"
