When We Were Orphans by Kazuo Ishiguro
I started this book last year. Over the course of the past year I re-started it at least five times. I would always start again from the beginning. I started it after reading Never Let Me Go by the same author, even though I owned this one first.
His books are strange. This one is very strange. I wasn't satisfied when I finished reading it. It feels very experimental, it reminded me of The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood, and Asylum by Patrick McGrath. But I infinitely prefer either of those novels to this one.
I'm glad I finally finished it. I suppose it will take some time to sink in.
