quick mod note

So, funny thing. (Really, you're gonna love this.)

It seems in the final days before we started posting synopses, we mods adjusted our position on a community rule and then, um, forgot to tell you all about it. \o/ (You people are supposed to read our minds, didn't you know that?)

The previously stated rule (clear as mud, might I add): "You are all welcome to discuss what fandom(s) you were assigned in your own livejournals or whatever. We do, however, implore you to keep your particular synopsis a secret."

The updated, hopefully clarified rule: The anonymity thing only applies within the community walls.

We wholeheartedly support posting your own synopses in your lj. Or linking back to the comm and giving your flist a heads-up on which one is yours. Be as specific as you want in your own lj. We want you to get credit for what you wrote! There is some seriously good shit in here by some really wonderful people. Tell your friends to come out in swarms and cheer you on (by Stranger number, of course).

If you want to reply to a compliment on the comm but are bugged by having to comment anonymously, then why not email the person directly and strike up a conversation? Or leave a love note for Stranger #whatever asking them to email you so you can friend their lj and get to know them. To hell with comments, work around us! Make friends! Go wild! There are loopholes galore here, y'all. We didn't make the anonymity rule to slow anyone down or get in anyone's way, and certainly not to keep good entertainment from getting compliments. We did it to protect shy writers from embarrassment and open the door to imagination and creativity in a shame-free environment.

I personally apologize for how unclear some of our policies have been. We're still figuring this out as we go. It's entirely possible that the next round will be handled completely differently. We're going to have a huge feedback session at the end of Round 1 to discuss how to improve. But for now, this is what we've got. Thank you everyone for your patience, participation, and support. We're having a blast, and we hope you are too.

And seriously, hold on to your butts, guys. I have a feeling the next batch of synopses is going to set the SSF bar for awesomeness. High.
