I just relayed your anecdote to my mom, and she laughed and started talking about the "abrupt nature" of New Yorkers. And speaking of my mom, I really wish you were here; she just brought home a movie she insists is a "classic", called Summer of '42. Apparently, it's about a fifteen year old boy who falls in love with a twenty-three year old woman he meets on the beach, and she teaches him about life. I'll try to make her hold on to it until August.
