Goodbye to the Mad Monk

TL;DR - sometimes i like to have a big politics rant, this is one of those times.
Of course Turnbull is still a monstrous plutocrat, trained in the financial dark arts at Goldman Sachs, a company so caring and sharing its nickname is 'the vampire squid'. And in many respects the better political instincts Turnbull has learnt since he was last ( Read more... )

It amazes me how American Stab in the Back Ozzy politics is. Leaders seem to have to keep looking over their shoulder for when their own ppl will remove them. There appears to be no trust or loyalty or sense of honour within parties. They don't seem to care that they owe a service to their population. I know leaders can be replaced in UK politics, but in UK they don't seem to do the back stabbing that happens in Oz. In Oz it seems to be coups and backroom nastiness rather than a proper defined process. Or that's just the way it comes over via international media perhaps.

I'm glad to see the back of the rat-faced 'boy wonder', but sad to see the return of the boring business suits again. sigh. Thankfully humans only have a shortish life and I'm over halfway now so won't have to endure this crap forever The older you get, the more you realise how rare and important GOOD LEADERS are. I miss the subtle effectiveness of Helen Clark in NZ. She may have kept her 'classic' wonky kiwi teeth, but they just helped to show that she wasn't about looks or outside things. She cut through the media crap and was able to focus on what mattered even if only small steps were possible. A very clever reader of ppl.

I wish you and Oz some better leadership, soon.
