I'm baa-aack!

I have been Out In The Wilderness since Friday. *clings to civilization* Excellent little trip, albeit rather freezing, and a much-needed detox from school life. (It was also meant to be a detox from fandom, but then I spent many long hours lazing around the campfire talking Harry Potter with little sister and Doctor Who with the newly-converted dad... Little sister is truly superior to me in the ways of luring unsuspecting newbies into fandom!)

I also had one of those wonderful common sense epiphanies, in which I realized that it makes a lot more sense to write a scene as it would occur in reality, rather than screwing around with the 'reality' of your story-universe to make the scene work the way you would like. Please note that it took me years to figure that out, never mind trying to actually implement it. FEAR MAH MASSIVE BRAINS.

In conclusion, there has been an epic Jurassic Park tale inhabiting my head space for... well, more than three years now, which I have resolved to complete before 2010. OR ELSE. The really sad thing is that I essentially have the damn thing written. Every single scene laid out, half the dialogue written... folks, I have drawn maps. I'm not entirely sure why it continues to live only in my head.

And yes, I'm aware that nobody actually remembers Normal People anymore, but dammit, I know how the story ends! I shall take the horrifying three-year lapse between chapters as full permission to tweak the first chapter so that it'll actually work with the rest of the story.
