Nuts.

So, the squirrel that has been scampering around in (yes, in) our roof seems to have gnawed its way right into the attic at last. The only good thing about this was my little sister, in a fit of panic, exclaiming "Oh my god, somebody please call the terminator!" (I still don't think she believes that it's called an exterminator ( Read more... )

animals, waaaaagh!

Aww! Your sister is too cute!

I think I'd be going the catch and release route too. Bugs are about the only thing I have little qualms about terminating.

(You're back, you're back! In your honour, please allow us to welcome you home with rainstorms of biblical proportions. *g*)

Isn't she just? She's very quotable like that.

Hear, hear. The only part I'm worried about is putting the cage in my car to drive the darn critter over the river. I can just see the headlines now: Terrified Squirrel Hulks Out, Attacks Motorist's Face - Twenty Car Pile-Up Ensues!

(Well, to be fair I think I brought the biblical rain back from Rome with me. Whoops. At least it seems to have stopped and therefore you won't now have to stone me.)

How goes the squirrel saga?

(Aha, the truth comes out! But what am I supposed to do with a half-built ark and all these pairs of animals...?)

The little bugger disappeared the day after we laid the traps! So it's either decided to move somewhere a little less hazardous to rodent-kind or... ick, ick, ick... it's gone and died up there. O_o

(Sell them to some nutty, doomsday Christians?)

Oh dear, I really hope it didn't die. *shudders*

So what have you been up to this summer?

(Well, I'm sure I could track down a few of those out here!)

Ack, me too. This is where it would be really nice to have an older brother who would get stuck with those sorts of jobs!

Work, work, a half-ton of required reading for school, and a little more work, just for kicks. *g* And how about you? All un-jet-lagged from the trip and getting a chance to enjoy the nice weather now?

Reading over summer as well? Is this more for your own geeky enjoyment or required by the school?

I'm exhausted. I can't seem to sleep well despite the fact that I should not be experiencing jet lag any longer and its making me feel sick and like a great big cranky pants. I don't know what's up with this body of mine.

Er... a bit of both, actually! I've got this one course that has ten novels on the required summer reading list (including Handmaid's Tale, coincidentally!), but I also have a fair stack of not-for-school books that I'm hauling around the province with me as well. *g*

Aw, that's not fun. One of the gals at my office just came back from Africa and was having trouble getting back into the swing of things as well. I generally don't put much stock in vitamins, but she's found them helpful in terms of having energy at the right time of day.

Err . . . very belated reply to this.

I never really put too much stock in vitamins either. But aside from jet lag (which I'm now over, thank god) in recent years I was having trouble with exhaustion, just seemed to be tired too often, but I never really thought too much of it. Not enough to visit my doc. One day I was passing a health store (vitamins, protein shakes . . . that sort of thing) popped in and asked if they had anything for energy. The guy recommended a vitamin B complex and holy crap. The difference was like night and day. Suddenly I could actually stay awake past nine. It was beautiful. So I'm converted. I believe in vitamins.
