Have I mentioned that I'm sort of in love with Jaxy and Zoe as a couple? Well, I am. Like many of the LFT crowd, I'm now playing them in their adult forms, and I've played ahead quite a ways with these two. I just enjoy playing their lot so much. It's fun to decorate and the girls are fun to play. They're also the cutest couple ever.
How great is the classic dance? I'm loving the access to a twirl on demand.
See? How adorable is that?
This shot also gives a nice view of their turquoise kitchen. I was deliberating over which fridge to use for a while, and was going to post for an opinion, but then I made up my mind on my own. These were the options:
The Holy Simoly fridge, which I love, was pretty, but took away from their limited counter space (I love playing with sims in small living spaces, so a four-tile kitchen area is common).
This is the option I went with: Phobia's bright recolour of the mini fridge (I use that Targa version by Lord Darcy - it has all the functionality of a normal fridge). It's also bright and pretty, and has the added benefit of extra counter space. This leaves room for a real stove too.
I've been really into sim decorating lately. It takes me forever to do it, because I do it as I play and really get into thinking about what those sims would own, and I really like to cram as much stuff as possible into the space. I hate wide open spaces in sim houses, so I aim to fill most every square that isn't needed to navigate the room. It feels more realistic to me that way. I like playing small lots, and that's also realistic to me (this one is a plasticbox - I hate the way basements look from another lot, but they're useful for storage).
How about a little tour of the house?
The barn-like recording studio out back. They set this up themselves a little further along in the story.
The first floor, with the kitchen, a small living area, and a bathroom. I like how there was a small two-tile space just big enough for a record player there (my favourite - I love all those older objects from FT).
The same floor, from the opposite angle.
The second floor has a bathroom, living room, and a bedroom. There isn't a grid square to spare up here. I'm so proud.
And the other angle. I've made some changes since these pics were taken, but they're pretty close to the way it is now.
Here, Jaxy contemplates their success, while Zoe plays with Bettie the womrat.
Zoe's the animal lover, so she's responsible for their growing collection of pets.
She even thought this little guy was pretty cute...
...until this happened.
No, she was not impressed.
(Heehee. Upskirt shot.)
They end up adopting a couple of stray cats too: Ariel and Kobe.
Ariel was first. Zoe sees the angry little thing and decides that she simply must adopt her.
Faster pussycat! Kill! Kill!
They find her inside, having a sort of Lady and the Tramp moment (expect they're both tramps), so they adopt Kobe too.
Theyre both fiesty little things. Ariel really puts her heart into killing that yarn.
You can't tell from this image, but Bettie the womrat is actually shivering with fear.
She's noticed Kobe the hunter has entered the room, and he's stalking her.
I believe Bettie is probably saying, "DO NOT WANT," don't you think?
Kobe is a savage, plain and simple.
He even takes down burglars. The poor guy didn't even get a chance to steal anything. The cat charged him, scared the poo out of him, and then the cops showed up.
Then Kobe hangs out and cheers as he gets a beating from the kind police officer.
As you can see, these cats are spoiled rotten.
Time to breed some demonic little kittens.
And here they are again, just being cute and stuff.
I like them with their cat children, but I'm on the fence about whether they'll have any real children. I could see Zoe eventually wanting to adopt or consider artificial inSIMination, and maybe Jaxy would support the idea if Zoe really wants to. On her own, Jax isn't inclined to want kids, and and she certainly doesn't want to birth them. But Zoe... maybe. If she does, I see her as a mother much later in life.
Okay, I'll stop fangirling them now, but the autonomous dancing is always cute to me.
I'll end with a couple of shots from their Twikkii Island vacation:
I think Zoe's just the perfect sim to use that leopard print bikini on. I can really see her going in for that whole pinup girl thing (that's why she has a hula girl lamp and a womrat named Bettie too).
