REAL LIFE JAPAN STUFF
I think of you guys as my little online family, so I want to tell you all about where I'll be going in 42 days!
Kyoutanngo City (Kyōtango) in MOTHER LOVING KYOTO PREFECTURE.
This is where Kyoto Prefecture is in Japan:
And zooming in from there, this Kyotango, which is in dark green.
I put Kyoto-ken down as my first choice simply because I didn't want to have to choose somewhere as my first choice. If that makes sense... so to be in the prefecture... I picked first... in a city.
WHAT?!
I asked to be semi-rural, and there are about 67,000 people in this city, but I could easily be out in a small village away from the city.
I'm of two minds about this placement. One, being in a city will mean I'll probably have it easier than a lot of JETs. However, I'll have it easier. It sounds strange but I'm going to have to try a lot harder to be "in Japan", and be gaijin (I know it seems stupid!) than if I was out in a really inaka place.
Also. I'm 731km away from cytrix , who's going to be on the far south island of Kyushu. Which SUCKS. But same time-zone at least, which is an improvement!
But there's very, very little info Kyotango... aside from coastal-ness...
So as soon as I know more, you'll know more.
