OH NO NOT YOU AGAIN
haha gotta bring that joke back. had fun recalling a time i said that to a couchsurfing host of mine who didnt know me well enough yet.. rude! haha and bill saying it to a security guard haha perf.
week two on the coast. made friends with some rez dogs the other day phew! theyre big and scary looking cuz they chase cars all day and run in a pack, but i put my hand out and tried not to look scared as they ran up barking but they smelled me and then just wanted pets! and they were so fluffy! i am about to start gardening here, just to, not sure if it'll even be that successful considering my not green thumb and the short as hell growing season here. im kinda just doing this as an experiment and im not too worried about the results because gardening isnt even tradition here, foraging yes for sure, but not gardening/farming. also not like i'd be able to start a large enough successful enough garden to change peoples diets except maybe for a day which i think is the point of most community gardens. that, and increasing self reliance. not that i dont have an interest in reducing my own and others' dependence on capitalist marketplaces buuuuuut lets be real, if you have a group of people who are all at risk of developing diabetes or already have diabetes, and you want to help them live healthier/longer/improve quality of life, do you start gardening hoping to one day figure it out and have enough resources to farm or do you start buying enough vegetables to serve healthy lunches at no cost to elders?? (the latter is already occurring here and the right answer in my opinion). so im bout to start my token community garden! lolololol with the intention of beautifying the neighborhood and encouraging elders to walk across the street to check it out once it looks like spring out here!
