I've been building myself a bit of a liquor cabinet

... and so it's always a bit of fun when I get to take the bottles out and look at them and try some stuff that I bought out of curiosity.

Tonight I tried Frangelico (which I really like, actually, hazelnut liquer and it tastes nice and dark and good), Cointreau (which is very orangey, eheh, but good), thought about the Drambuie but it smells like bourbon-flavored gasoline and my stomach didn't feel like bourbon...

and finally scotch on the rocks. Which I actually really like. This is Glenlivet, which is probably middle of the road stuff (although not to scotch snobs, heh, it's the best selling scotch in the US, so you can figure what that may mean). But just uncorking the bottle, the smell was... good. I liked it, whereas even my Irish whiskey is a little whoo (and even my good bourbon is whoa). This smells kinda nice, actually. And I've never been huge on having stuff on the rocks (watering down, bleh), but having a couple fingers of scotch on the rocks is... pleasant. None of the gag reflex of shooting bourbon but you still get the warmth and the buttery aftertaste.

So I guess that will enter my rotation next to the dirty martini for my upscale kinda mixed drinks (with jagerbombs on the far end of the spectrum).

Also having a couple glasses of scotch on the rocks gets a nice buzz going. It's a classy kind of buzz. So suck it.
