So, I was thinking. (Oh noes) Yeah, anyway. Our parents or maybe even grandparents have songs like "Beyond the Sea" and "Hotel California,", or maybe some of the younger ones have "Under Pressure." Uh, you left out Smells Like Teen Spirit. I think that will always be around.

Unfinished Sympathy by Massive Attack pretty much defined 90s music in Britain. That's a really amazing song.

Everybody Hurts by R.E.M.?

Hyper-ballad by Bjork.

Frozen by Madonna. (Seriously, it's a good song, not like popy Madonna.)

I'm really thinking of rock songs I grew up with. Smells Like Teen Spirit I've been contemplating because it doesn't exactly have the sound as all the others do...but then again it is an undeniable classic. Unfinished Sympathy, Hyper-ballad, and Frozen? I'm thinking of classics I've heard of and grew up with. Everybody Hurts was early 90s, but I hadn't heard it until I got the Best of REM CD, but I think I'll add it just because I fucking love REM.

I think you'd know Frozen if you heard it. But yeah, it's really hard to think of songs that everyone knows that doesn't suck... cause the 90s had some sucky music.

Also, if we're talking '00s, I'd put Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt on there. Everyone knows that, too.
