Ups and Downs.
It has been an interesting week as thanksgiving approaches... a date in which I am now very likely to be away from the family for the first time in years. (More on that below).
This past past week has seen Me and my Pizza Sauce get into an emotional argument, which had to do with stress and the responsibilities of living together... to put a complex situation into a general light. And again,... as has happened before, after we fight and appear to be on the brink, we give into each other and become closer. It was a weekend that was an emotional roller-coaster, which culminated into her meeting my mom for the first time, which worked out well and which seemed unlikely a day before.
Of course, as that storyline was playing out, I had the pleasure of hanging out with good boulies on a Saturday Night out in The City, which is something that is more rare these days. After hearing Van Lieu's latest hard-luck story about him getting kicked out of his apartment for no good reason and hanging out at the old 26 Mayfield for the first time on over a year, we made our way to the Sunset to check out one of our favorite bands... Retard Strength, starring Martin, Becker, and Jared....
...and about the thanksgiving thing,... I don't expect to be in the Bay Area for thanksgiving, which I am greatly dissapointed about. I usually get everything I want in terms of my schedule, but I was lazy and cocky about November and my bid for the month was half-assed. And then,.. I managed to trade out my trip with somebody else and I was able to get thanksgiving off until the trade was nullified 5 days later because it was illegal. Anyway,.. there still is a chance I will be off, but I am getting more and more resigned to being in Seattle on that day despite trying very hard and going through all the avenues.
