School finished ok. Not too proud of my self by losing hope scholarship, but ive had a good 3 year ride. And I mean hey, "C's get degrees" is oh so true. Though I do need to step it up a little bit, that way I can atleast not worry about it so much like I did this semester. Im doing summer classes, Intro to algorithms and advanced algorithms (surprised they arent pre-req's of each other, oh well) shouldnt be too hard.
Band wise, we've definately hit a brick wall. Cameron is going to full-sail starting in August, so that puts us down to 3 members. We dont know any news about what is going to happen, and I guess we'll just cross that bridge when the time comes. Either which way, I totally support him going to full-sail, that is definately an opportunity that you cant pass up. But, we are looking to play one, maybe two, last shows for Cameron around early August. So please, if youve ever wanted to support us, please keep in touch as we try to make this event as awesome as possible.
Recently, I went through my game drawer and looked at FF8. It enticed me. My brain said, "no, you remember playing this game before for an hour. THE DRAW SYSTEM FOR MAGIC FUCKING SUCKS." But I pressed onward and have been playing for the past month. And after that month my brain says, "YOUVE WASTED A MONTH AND THE DRAW SYSTEM FOR MAGIC STILL FUCKING SUCKS". Yes, thats right, FF8 is not built for magic-users. You're able to "junction" your magic to stuff like your HP/Strength/Weapon damage etc. for bonuses. But hey, if you cast that spell while its junctioned, you lose some of your bonus. Fuck. And the main character? What a walking vagina. Like seriously, there are two girls who have vaginas on a silver platter and Squall is like, I miss my sister, I dont get shit about being a SeeD, Were all going to die anyways, insert emo line here. Then, and only then, when a girl is taken out of the game (read: when Rinoa goes into a coma) is when hes like OMG IM IN LOVE, I TOTALLY WANNA BANG HER, IMA GO SAVE HER. Then he does that, he goes and saves her. Girl is practically spread eagle and awaiting the penis of Squall, and he bitches out. AGAIN. WHAT THE FUCK IS APPEALING ABOUT THIS GODDAMN CHARACTER. I DONT FUCKING UNDERSTAND WHY GIRLS LOVE HIM TO DEATH. UGH. Anyways, after adapting to the subpar story line, and not being able to cast magic, the game is not all that bad.
::EDIT:: After beating the game today, the ending is highly anti-climatic. Idk, maybe I just didnt enjoy the story all that much. BUT...BUT I made the ultimate relization about why girls love squall. And I dont see why there has to be that much hype about this game because of 1 kiss at the end of the credits. gay.
And the conclusion ive come to is this:
You know when you ask a FF player, which one was their favorite. They usually say FF7, hell its a good choice. If not, they say some other ff game, usually its 8, but sometimes its not. Then you ask, well what about 7? And they say OMG it sucks, 8 is soo much better. Yet they cant put out a good argument. That's because they are lying to you because they want to seem cool and rebel against the industry standard of "the best FF created". Now, before I put my foot in my mouth, THE ONLY PERSON TO EVER GIVE GOOD EXAMPLES ABOUT WHY FF7 IS NOT THE BEST IS JASON BROWN. Anybody else who can prove me wrong, ill be more than happy to errata you in. Otherwise:
FF7 is the best. FF8 is cool, its not a completely awful story-line, definately playable, glad i didnt pay for it, main character sucks, dont cast magic.
FFXI has been ok. The per-usual happens. AKA, when I have a day off work, I cant get a fucking party. Monk has been slowly climbing up to 75, @66. Though im not looking forward to the 70's because I have soo much to do at every fucking level. Oh well, i guess everyone has to do it, just like everyone poops.
Just hit the back button and realized my last post was in march. That means, yes, im 21 now. Cool, I can go get a green bordered drivers license. SIGN ME UP! Also got promoted at Hot Topic. In there eyes im a "keyholder", in the world's eyes im a "Managers Bitch".
Alright im just gonna finish everything else in short bullets. Kinda tired of typing.
