Well, my week of vacation in California is coming to an end. I'm shipping out first thing early tomorrow morning and I won't be home until around 6pm EST. I'm not exactly looking forward to going there, but it's time to move on. I can't spend the rest of my life in California, I have a life of my own to live. I've spent a lifetime preparing for when I live on my own, I might as well stay on that course.
The trip has been pretty busy, but I don't think it was as exhausting as my trip to Canada. We didn't do as much exercising and I didn't spend as much, bar the anime. ;) I went to the local Frye's and bought the first special edition of Eureka 7 DVD 1, Shaun of the Dead, and a game called Sacred. I could have done more damage to my wallet, but I guess I restrained myself. I also bought the warchest for Warcraft III to split between my friend Dave and myself (he lost the CD for the original game and I didn't have the expansion) and found out that the keys had been ripped off. The box appeared to be sealed properly but I figured someone ripped them off and turned them in after re-sealing them. I don't think the seal's supposed to be forge-able, but who knows these days. We also went to the wading pools, went bowling, and to a park near the zoo. Almost went to the zoo but collectively we didn't have enough money for it.
It was really nice most of all to see Dave and his family though. I've know Dave since I was about 16 years old and I'd have to say we're best friends at this point. It was nice to see his family, although their 5 kids would be enough to drive most people (except parents) nuts or at least leave them frazzled. I got to be present when Dave's adoption of one of the kids was finalized as well.
All in all, a good trip and one I hope to repeat next year. We'll see where everyone is by that time.
