Yesterday morning i went over to the house to drop off some boxes and i almost passed the house because there was a red car parked on my front lawn. Assuming it was the previous owners there to pick up their crap i walked into the house to find no one there... and the red car still in my front yard. So i went next door and saw that my neighbor, Maria, was busy in her backyard and asked whose car was in my yard. She looked over the fence:

M: it's not yours?
S: No, Maria, if i were here i would have said hi.
M: then it's the people across the street.
S: what.
[i look across the street to see some people milling around a uhaul]
M: they are putting up a fence. see?
S: why did they park in my yard?
M: i don't know - we don't do that here. they shouldn't have done that.
S: right.

But why ACROSS the street in my YARD? I mean, it could have been parked IN the street. or in THEIR driveway or MY DRIVEWAY! but no, my front yard. Who does that. I mean, honestly. So we're talking and this woman walks over the my yard and moves her car without any apology or expression of remorse - or even gratitude. You don't park in other people's front yards. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Natalie and I had a nice afternoon planned with swimming, sunbathing, and shopping. Come to find out the pool is closed because some people have been breaking the rules (bringing in beer, cigarettes, and food. the beer still gets me.) So it was 87 degrees yesterday and today will be 94. tomorrow? 92.
So we just headed to Gadsden because i have a coupon for a free Dairy Queen blizzard that the only one around here is in Gadsden. But we went to the mall and some other strip malls and ate dinner at P'asgetti's. Then got our ice cream - i had a Strawberry Cheesequake blizzard and it was delicious.

Apparently Natalie is just now realizing that i'm moving out. Further plans are she's moving back home after the fall semester... but we agreed that we had a great day together.

Around 6:40 we decided to go to a movie in Oxford because i happened to have a free pass. We were going to see Star Wars again, and i could use the pass because it has been out for more than two weeks. The movie started at 7:05... we made it there at 7:13. excellent timing. However, i am informed by an employee who frequents my bookstore that i can't use the pass until the 15th for Star Wars. bastards. so we ended up seeing Monster-in-law so i could use my pass. Blah. And i dislike Jennifer Lopez. But it kept us amused for a bit.

I am envisioning an interesting next couple days. Wish me luck.
