Well today and yesterday we have been discussing these 2 religions in history. I like some realy good points in bolth (mostly Buddhism) unlike Christianity if you do wrong in this life you wont be eternaly forsaken instead you get a second chance and a third and fourth and as many as you need. Also instead of you going to be with a god and being eternaly contempt (which would mean just sitting there) you become a part of god where you know all and have no needs. Although i am going to adopt some of there ways because i see them to be right this still bring me to ask why would there be a god and why would he make humans? for his intertainment? for his pleasure? was he lonely? (i use he because its easier to understand that way) what if there isnt a god and we all just envolved from the primortial soup. After having said that most people are like "but what about all the books all the profits all the 'prof'" well i think the governments of the first civilization invented religion not because god told them to not because he had a vision but as a source of control. if you had never been taught that stealing, killing, lieing and other such "atrocities" where bad do u realy think you would consider them wrong? i think not, so the first leaders (or some one of that sort) noticed the "survival of the fittest" instinct we all have at birth so they invented religions. then you may think well what about a law well if u commit a crime u pay a fine or jail or something of that matter but thats alone is not strong enough to keep people from doing things against the law because the punishments are usualy temporary. so some genious came up with the idea that if he taught that if u commit a "crime" (10 commandments or something like that) then u will be eternaly forsaken or you would have to wait longer for eternal happyness. so with that being taught and instilled on people since birth they begin to think that it is real and gain a "conscience" so instead of the government needing to enforce the law u wont want to break it because of the after death consequences. although this doesnt work on all people if u have been taught one of these religions its always in the back of ur mind (i know it is in mine). In conclusion i dont think religion is a bad thing i just think it is true.
