Here's another story for the people who care haha :)
I wasn't doing anything bad when it happened, it just kind of happened. It was one of those things that you can't really control because it's not you that caused it, even if I had caused it, well I couldn't have been able to control it anyway.
I was sitting up a tree, it was dusk. I was merely reading, minding my own business going along with the wind just relaxing when this woman in a white dress came around, wailing for no apparent reason.
"Young child!" she sobbed, grabbing the leg I had hanging down within her reach, "young child, oh please oh please help me!" that's when a tall limber man came around,
"Don't listen to her child! She is a liar, a cynical whore who doesn't deserve life." and with that he drew a sword from his side, (for he was wearing a full suit of armor) and decapitated the woman. Her blood spilled to the roots of the tree, and when the tree and the red liquid touched, the plant began to wither, with me still on it.
I jumped down opposite the armored man and searched for a place to hide. Yet another tree I found myself behind, for there was nothing left to conceal myself in except for the swamp to the south of my more recent position.
"Who are we hiding from?" giggled a voice, I jumped out from behind the tree to find a girl about my age (15) with long dark hair standing there. "Well you're no fun." she skipped away. I backed back towards the withered tree.
"Ah young one!" the armored man laughed, "Are you going to join us in the night's festivities?" I shook my head, trying to find a way away from the sudden mass of people surrounding me.
"Oh stay for awhile, you will have such fun!" a woman held out a tray of lightly colored drinks to me, "Won't you stay?" she pleaded. I tentatively took a glass and shrugged.
"I don't see why I wouldn't." cheers erupted around me as I took a swig of the liquid. It warmed my throat and relaxed me.
I danced throughout the night with many people, who didn't all look human. I drank and talked with even more people than I danced with. The sun set completely and the party got even more fun. Torches were set around the clearing now, and rings of dance began to form. I ate some delicious pastries when I was approached by a young man.
"Hello," he bowed, "Would you like to dance with me?" I smiled and took the hand he held out to me.
"I am Aoibheann,"(EE-van) I curtsied, "What do they call you?" his black hair fell into his icy blue eyes as he bowed back, this time in dance, not courtesy.
"They call me, Ardghal." (AHR-dahl.) We found our places in a ring and began dancing, commonly switching partners, as was customary in group dances like this, but I always kept my eyes glued to him, and when my eyes found his, he erupted into a smile that was warmer than the sun. It forced me to glow back, although I was positive I didn't or couldn't radiate as he did.
Once our short dance was finished quickly, and I found myself by a fire with my new companion.
"you know, Aoibheann, I find you to be most beautiful." I blushed, though my rational mind did not know how my frizzy bland hair and my glasses that were too big for my face could in any way be beautiful.
"Thank you Ardghal,"
"No, I do not mean your looks, but your mind and your grace." I raised an eyebrow as he leaned closer.
"Aoibheann you could be my queen." every breath I took meant nothing at that point because my body started changing, gaining joints losing weight, gaining height losing certain residencies. I found myself on the ground in the morning, only Ardghal standing above me. He put out a hand and with a smile helped me up.
"You are now Fey, love, you are now Immortal." I looked at my hands, larger yet slimmer, and found myself looking around with more eye and not as much mind, or human mind for that matter.
He kissed me then, tenderly and passionately.
Oh that kiss sealed the curse of living forever.
I wish I had never taken that drink.
