It is officially Fall now, and I will tell you why. Not only did i get "an extra hour of sleep last night" (not true, i got an extra hour of awake, which i used to watch an episode of Lost), but the leaves are starting to be seriously red around here. Some gold as well, but mainly red. Seriously. And more importantly, for the first time this year I made and ate pumpkin pancakes this evening. A LOT of pumpkin pancakes--I tripled the recipe and went through an entire extra-tall can of Redi-Whip putting it on the pancakes (of course with a few shots skipping the pancake step entirely, and right into our mouths--mine, mostly).
It was really nice; a bunch of cool and fun and good people came by and we listened to Sufjan (described both as "clown music" and "like Simon and Garfunkle," the latter description by two different people, one of who also gave the first description). I also made chai, which was also good, and i am satisfied with life and with the state of my stomach.
I also just dropped our first Netflix movie in the mail for return. Evil Dead II. It was groovy, and will soon be replaced by The Triplets of Belleville. The Cranes are Flying is on its way already. Hooray for the technology age.
Happy halloween!
