I pity those vampires who adhere to the mythic conception that our kind cannot cross running water. This would make events such as these such a pain...

Minor thoughts aside,  It is rather annoying to have my little room flood with tepid water. Though I imagine it for the best I have nothing in my possession that could be ruined by such natural

[Juliet is hiding in her room by now, huddled on her bed. But the commentary has her curious, and as she knows nothing of vampires beyond the little bit Hanna and Spike have told her....]

Why would vampires be unable to cross running water?

You know, I've never found the origin of such a myth. It stands to reason it has something to do with the religious origin that many falsifications leveled against vampires.

Others include being unable to see ones reflection in a mirror and that we fear crosses and other holy objects. I do not know about others here, but I am simply not weakened by such things.

Why would the Church say such things if they were untrue?

[She frowns. Probably to reassure people, if they thought vampires dangerous. But, surely those statements would prove false quickly if a vampire did not react as expected.]

Are you affected by sunlight, the way some are? And, must you also drink blood to live?

[Mina looks rather harmless to need such a thing, to Juliet's reckoning.]

I assume to keep the public calm. Vampires aren't exactly held in the highest regard.

As for the other things, yes, both are true of myself.

What do you mean by 'nothing in your possession could be ruined'... by water, I guess?

Of course, I've brought nothing of worth from my home save for the clothes on my back. What else could I have possibly meant?

[Raven shrugs.] That all the things you owned were waterproof, or magically protected, or whatever... I don't know. Obvious is not always the answer here, you know.

Yes, I imagine. But, magic is still a foreign concept to me. The super natural elements of my home begin and end with vampires and werewolves.

I cannot speak for all vampires, but I have yet to meet one who actually adhered to such rules.

Really now? We're more common then one would think.

I know of two, besides myself.
