I made a rough plan for after i graduate. The best part is...it involves all of my favorite things.
Mom offered to buy me two plane tickets to England as a college graduation gift. So i figured....why stop at England when I want to see more than that? So i started planning...and actually an essay i wrote in English class helped me figure it out. There's an org. called WOOF. Worldwide Organization or Organic Farmers. First off...i love the country life, and I have always wanted to see the European countryside. So here's the plot so far...
Start in England at a host farm. The host farm gives you free room and board if you work. So I stay for a couple of weeks in England getting a feel for it. Then I cross the channel and go to another farm in Spain. Stay a couple weeks hanging out...learning from people. Recording everything in a journal, taking a massive amount of pictures and interviewing the other people working on the farm. And it goes like that in a cycle. For another 5 countries or so. France, Italy, Greece, Austria, the Czech Republic. Then after awhile cross the channel again and make a stop in Scotland (for Joe haha) then head to Ireland for a couple weeks before heading home to America. All in all it would take a few months. All these places accept euros so i wont have to worry about changing currency all the time. And I already speak conversational Spanish. Hopefully next year at IUPUI I can start another romance language...Italian preferrably. I already know a touch of German so if i practice a bit by the time I graduate I will be semi fluent in at least 3 languages. For the rest...I can pick up a guide book with useful phrases. Forgein language has never been a problem for me so im not so worried about it. These days 1 in 3 people in Europe knows a bit of English so it shouldn't be that difficult. Joe is all for this idea...he only worries about who wil pay rent while we are gone. lol. And apparently subleasing an apartment is illegal....who knew?? i didn't.
Eventually after I get back I would like to start putting everything down and possibly turning it into a book. Not right away after I get back...but sometime in my life. I'd like to think it will be my last great adventure before I start the next important phase of my life; being a mom.
And i found something I really really want. I'm doing the whole month waiting phase...as suggested by Kent. (thanks buddy) but here is the pic of what it is anyway. It is a horse, hopefully going on my right shoulder blade. It stands for a lot of the things i believe very deeply in; loyalty, passion, honor, and strength. I have loved them for as long as I can remember. It's a huge part of my life. let me know what you all think about it.
That's all for now.
