Well, it's official - the new solar oven, when in direct sun at midday, does reach 350 degrees. Woohooooo!!
Now granted, on days of partial or intermittant sun, it is not so mighty - but fortunately, I spent last year learning to cook under those kinds of conditions. So, at worst, it's still more like a slow cooker; in middling conditions, it's faster than that; and at best, I can bake in it at actual speed, without having to adjust the recipe. Wow.
I'm baking homemade granola bars in the solar oven right now - how much more "crunchy granola" can ya get?
