Following the cut, you'll find spoilers for DW: The End of Time (pt. 1). Don't click if you haven't seen it and/or have issues with spoilers, excessive profanity, and judicious use of allcaps.
Okay, I'm going to try to respond to your points in the order you made them, but my head is messy inside today.
Firstly, there are people who think the Time Lords possibly *aren't* batshit insane? Really? I'm sorry, any race of people who force their children to stare into the unmasked vortex of time are insane. Seriously, someone call the Intergalactic CPS, because if they wanted their race to survive, not doing that might have been a good start. Among, many many other instances of insanity that get mentioned, too numerous to list. The whole race went 'round the bend long before either the Doctor or the Master were born, or hatched, or however Time Lords pop into being. The Master is just a little further along the path all the Time Lords are merrily traipsing down, which makes the fact that they are horrified by him kind of amusing.
Secondly, Gods yes, more non-humans. Especially more non-humans who are not the Big Bad. I loved the Ood. They make me happy.
From a character standpoint, I actually sort of like the gluttony. Yes it's gross, and creepy, but I consider the fact that I'm both grossed and creeped out to be a good thing. If they were referencing his energy issues in a way where I didn't have a strong reaction, I'd be disappointed.
I'm going to write fic about what goes on on the Master's face in the thirty or so seconds right after he catches the Doctor. There is SO MUCH going on there.
And yay! DONNA!!!!! If she dies, I will not be best pleased. Which is a huge understatement, but discussing whose entrails I'll dance in in a public forum is probably gauche, yes?
