Come on over here and I'll feed you homemade banana bread in exchange for dishwashery! *giggle* (housemate is making a batch, in theory, wed or fri.)

We, for the last... 5 yrs?... have only warmed-up, not cooked. We order a feast from Marie Callender's and the only thing that takes any REAL time is reheating the turkey. All else is microwave, with a brief stint in the oven for the dressing, to crisp the top a bit, and a tray off crescent rolls 'cause they're like frikkin crack, man! Other than the bird, everything takes about half an hour or so to heat up, brown, and bake. Their containers are microwavable, so we really don't have too much left of the cookery to wash. Hell. Yes.

THUS, we are lazy barstards and spend most of the day/evening goofing off in fambly style. Usually playing games and/or watching videos together. Almost every year we watch Muppet Christmas Carol on Thanksgiving evening. Tradition, really.

Your stick-to-it-iveness on your novel is JUST FREAKING STUPENDOUSLY AWESOME! You rock six ways from Sunday and I not only adore you, but I respect the craptarts out of you! I canNOT wave the pom poms enough for you, m'dearie! Just so proud and bouncy for you!

Kewl for Storydaughter getting rolling on the schoolin', though, yeah, that lack of response, in particular, seems odd to me.

Do miss your Jooster, too, though, but talk about a good cause for delay! Wow. And I'm quite intrigued by this screenplay talk of yours.

Wow, yeah, what DID happen with the violin lessons? I hope they go well when you start up again. Oh, I'm envious! XD

EDIT: Yeah, yeah, spelling, I just don't know why I can't get it right the first time!

That sounds like the Thanksgiving for me. I love turkey and the trimmings, but all the work in the kitchen for what - 20 minutes to eat dinner? And then there's the dishes.

We used to go to either MIL's or one of the spouse's brother's for dinner. But it was always a disaster, from the mountain of dishes that were there before dinner was even started, to being told to arrive at 2 and then finding out dinner isn't until 6. So now we stay home. MIL is welcome to join us, but we're not budging from our house. Same thing happens at Christmas. We don't leave. Anyone is welcome to come over, but they'd better like pizza and the latest Simpsons' DVDs.

We always watch "A Christmas Story" on Thanksgiving night. We have for years.

You're pretty cool yourself, you know. Without all this encouragement I could do nothing.

Violin lessons are going much better, ever since I told myself I had no reason to be nervous about them. It's not like I'm trying to play Carnegie Hall. I just want to enjoy the lessons and enjoy learning to play again. So now it's all a lot more fun.
