1. From yesterday's post, I have concluded that most girls did not use their Barbies and Kens as Mattel intended. For those mothers and fathers who say Barbies do not lend themselves to creative play, I invite you to take a look and see just how creative kids could be ( Read more... )

I can't wait to see The Green Hornet and Black Swan. Some very decent movies out right now. I saw The King's Speech a couple of weeks ago and I very highly recommend it - that movie has "Oscars" written all over it.

P.S. "Be bad for me" = *dies*

I've heard lots of good things about Black Swan. Oddly enough, Hornet got lukewarm reviews at best, but apparently viewers didn't take those to heart. The movie cost about $100 million to make and earned about $40 million in its first weekend. It'll break even, at least, especially when DVD and download sales are added to the total.

That book has lots of lines like that. I can't wait to get the next book.

I've heard a lot of crap from Hornet fans about how pissy they are that Seth Rogen is playing him and how it just won't work because the Hornet's not really a funny guy. Urgh. I'm a commic book nerd myself, but even I'm willing to give the guy a shot, I mean, I wasn't crazy about Tobey Maguire playing Spider-Man, but he did a good job.

Yes, they should just give it a chance. And really, if every single thing was played straight out of the book or comic or whatever, people would still complain.

I think those of us who have never seen Hornet comics will be the happiest with this film. I had no preconceived notions of how this character is supposed to behave, so I went into it with an open mind.

Plus, there are explosions. Explosions make me very happy.
