6 hours on the road. I can't wait.

We're going to my mum's for Easter dinner which is a good thing. She's a lovely person, my stepdad is cool and I'll get to see one of the sisters I don't see very often. The downside is that mum lives three hours from here. Since I refuse to stay the night (now that we have a dog we can't anyway), that means six total hours on the road.

I don't really mind it, but the spouse tends to get cranky. He's rather worse than the kids about it, to tell you the truth. But as I remind him from time to time, I often help his mother and will be helping her even more when she moves next door to us. In other words, bite the bullet, bub.

I have a feeling I need to remake myself somehow. Maybe it's age creeping up on me, but I want to get the second half of my life organized so that I can actually accomplish some of the lofty goals I've set for myself. I don't want to be one of those people who waits until retirement to finally live. I want to live now.
