The point of this comm is to stimulate creativity. There's no time limit on that! Sign up as and when the mood takes you.
Rules
1. Sign up to this post (the one over here) to request a set of cubes.
2. You will receive a picture of your cubes in the comment reply.
3. Write a work of fiction using all the cubes. You may reorder them if you wish.
4. Original and fanfiction are both encouraged. Multifandom, gen, het or slash, whatever takes your fancy. Serious, cracked out, who cares? (Well, we do, but you get the idea.)
5. You can request a second set of cubes after posting the fic for the first set.
6. Cubes can be reused throughout the fic, particularly as they may be used thematically.
7. Post your story wherever you usually post it (your journal, an archive, communities etc), but please also post to the storycubes community. Include all relevant links to your story and ensure they are to open posts.
8. The cubes are open to interpretation. A picture of a sheep does not need to result in a literal sheep in your story! Think obliquely, laterally, metaphorically. One reason behind the creation of Rory's Story Cubes was to unlock creativity--let's show them what we can do!
9. If you wish to post the picture of your cubes to the community, please do so under a cut.
10. Warnings are our friends. Please make sure the rating of your story is clearly displayed and that you have considered what may require warning for in your story. Whilst not mandatory, warnings for common triggers are encouraged.
Posting Template:
Please title your post with the title of the fic, fandom and pairing (where appropriate), rating and your name.
Then use this template for the body of the post:
Title: (lol, self-explanatory)
Author: (do I really need to...?)
Fandom: (do not include if original fic, obvs!)
Rating: (whatever rating system you use, please make sure it is clear and understandable)
Warnings: (all appropriate)
Summary: (if in doubt, quote!)
A/N: (for anything not covered by the rest of the header. If you want to write an essay, we won't read it. :D )
