Notes:
This song should be played in the background of the dream.
The dream begins deep underwater, where no cheerful streams of light can reach. A figure sinks down, though it's not clear who it is who is drowning.
"This will be the last time."
Suddenly, a small, golden light appears amidst the blackness. It grows larger, taking the form of a rose--or is it a butterfly? The image shifts, flicking back and forth. The figure stops sinking, floating in the water, reaching for the light--
"I'll never let anyone insult your family."
The scene is suddenly a beautiful garden at night-time, onto which gentle rain drops fall. A
young girl stands in the downpour, clutching a golden key that hangs around her neck. If there are tears running down her face, they mix with the rainwater, and her cries cannot be heard over the booming thunder. A black cat with emerald eyes slinks by...
And now the girl is inside a warm, well-lit hall, apparently in the midst of a party. Cheerful-looking people surround her, laughing and enjoying themselves. Occasionally they approach her, offering kind words and fun riddles for the girl to solve. But, as this goes on, her expression becomes confused, and then angry. Her form changes from that of a six year-old to an eighteen year-old.
"I am ANGE Beatrice of 1998, the final Golden Witch!! No witch of the past can defeat a witch of the future!!"
"Don't take me for a fool! You think that kind of magic, that illusion, that daydream... can heal those twelve years? And how am I supposed to go on for decades and decades into the future? Someone, come back to me, someone!! But no one's coming back! So, at least tell me what happened that day...!"
The happy scene of her welcoming family members melts away into an inky blackness. Ange is what appears to be a city, though it is, in actually, a massive library. The red-haired girl moves along through space, still clutching the butterfly-shaped key, lead along by a group of emerald-eyed cats...
An exchange of the truth for her life... that was the contract.
"Bernkastel said she'd tell me...!"
A book's pages surrounded her, as if in a high wind. Screaming, Ange covered her ears, and shut her eyes. This was the Single Truth that she had always wanted. That she had given her life for... and now her body fell from the skyscraper-like bookshelf and fell, plummeting endlessly...
"When Ange-chan lost her hopes and dreams, she stopped valuing her own life. ... How can she be given hopes and dreams again? ... What can be done to help her find a reason for living?"
We knew you would come back. That was our miracle.
Despite the earlier scene, Ange now stands with her brother. It's evident from their expressions that a lot has happened, that they've both suffered a great deal.
"No matter what happens, never abandon the hopes that keep you alive. All of us are always behind you. ... If you just believe, we can even speak to you! Believe it! If one thing is certain, it's that miracles happen when you believe!"
Aah, Onii-chan... you're so cliche.
Two doors stood before her, and her family stood behind her. She couldn't look back.
"Even if the whole world denies my hope, I won't abandon it. I won't abandon my unshakable hope that everyone's alive. ... This is something that I've finally reach. ... This is... my attitude as a witch."
I am ANGE Beatrice. The Golden and Endless Witch of Resurrection. A witch of Mariage Sorciere.
When the door opened, the dream ended.
