I guess that I'm a semi-real researcher

I got a $2500 grant to do research through the National Science Foundation's STEP program. The professor who advises the robotics club had us all write up individual proposals, and they all got accepted. I guess the school received way too much cash from NSF, or NSF had too much cash to burn, and nobody else applied, cause the proposals weren't that awesome. I don't know how getting the money works, but hey, it's project funding, since it's through the robotics club, the hours are really flexible, and it's something that'll look good on my resume. The actual project is this little ball robot that rolls around on the floor. Prototype pic

Finals start may 19th, final exams now. Talked to profs and I should be mostly fine on my classes, A's, B's mostly, don't know what I'll get in matlab, don't much care. Will likely doi well enough in English to have a shot at applying for a job at my schools writing center. Doing schedule planning for next semester, and everything conflicts or is at an awful time, and finally worked something out, but I probably won't be able to keep my daycare job. Summer planning was a lot cleaner, but again, my job is up in the air.

I'm being good, reading most people's ljs, semi-caught up, and commenting half the time to note that I have at the least skimmed things. *shrugs* Working on not feeling guilty for missing anything, cause awful grades would make me feel worse about myself.
