Author's Note: Never written a 100 word drabble since I tend to be verbose. I needed a break from writing reluctant Remus and this was it.
Remus leaned against the door frame watching Hermione as she talked softly to Crookshanks. He lost himself in her hushed voice, closing his eyes to inhale deeply, her familiar scent making his heart race and blood pound. When he opened them, he found Hermione staring at him, curious. Remus banked the fire he knew was blazing in his eyes, though nothing could stop the fire scorching through his veins.
“Seen Harry?” he asked, voice deceptively bland.
“Upstairs,” she answered, breathless.
He smiled, looking through hooded eyes.
Soon, he would claim her as his own.
The world, and himself, be damned.
