This is my comment about an article posted on
aramatheydidnt last March 18.
*I wanted to post this earlier but I was busy with real life stuffs.

I quoted some parts of the article for a more detailed comment. :D
“It was thought “Arashi’s Era” would continue. However, in the same ranking in 2011, in the Top 10 their 35th single “Lotus” took 6th place, and their 36th single “Meikyuu Love Song” took 7th.”
The author mentioned in the article about Arashi’s singles last 2011 that “only” took 6th and 7th place in the Oricon Yearly Ranking. I don’t think that that can be a basis to say that Arashi’s popularity is dwindling down. For me, it just means that AKB48 is selling millions and Arashi, sadly, is not. If it fairly noticeable that the sales of Arashi’s singles are almost at the same range. I did not go down drastically. The reason why they are ranking lower is just because AKB48 is selling more singles than they are. And why does the article fail to mention that the 1st to 5th spot was occupied by AKB48. Technically, Arashi is second to AKB. (Though I still want them to be first) It’s not like there are five artists that exceeded Arashi. Why say they are losing their popularity?
“Furthermore, Arashi has seen a decline in variety show viewership ratings. “Himitsu No Arashi-chan”, for example, has begun to stand out for making 10% ratings.”
About Himitsu no Arashi-chan, I do agree that there is a noticeable decrease with the viewership ratings but come on can we really blame the fangirls. I really find it heart breaking that HnA is only showing 2 members in dates with other celebrities. I really like the previous format and miss seeing five of them together in HnA. Though, I admit. The fact that fans don’t want to watch HnA due to the new format is quite alarming.
“Each of Arashi’s members have some type of charm, but do not have the strong, influential personalities like Kimura Takuya or Nakai Masahiro that allows you to reign over the entertainment world for a long time.”
Here it is again, the never-ending comparison between Arashi and SMAP. I have nothing against SMAP. I actually quite like them. I just don’t see the reason of this comparison at all. Is it because both groups are Johnny’s? I don’t really see any resemblance of the two groups (besides being successful and Johnny’s). I don’t think Arashi wanted to become SMAP at all. They just want to be Arashi. When they debuted, they just wanted to establish a name for themselves and right now they are reaching that dream - being top selling artists and renowned actors. I don’t think they are competing at all. It doesn’t really make any sense to me at all. Arashi is Arashi while SMAP is SMAP - two totally different idol groups.
“If they lose the age they can be called “cute”, Arashi’s members have lack of a personality to continue as the National Idol Group, or in other words, are too much this generation’s child.”
Now, let’s focus on the underlined words above. They are actually saying that Arashi lack personality. Oh my~ If what Arashi members have is not personality then I guess I never known anyone with personality. Seriously, where do people get these things? ;)

I also read some of the comments. (I didn’t read them all cause there’s plenty of them). I do agree with the comments and I’ll be quoting some of them. Here they are~
“They're doing too much! Management has spread them so thin they're just not appealing like they used to be.” - beach_bum1303
I agree. Give the boys some break. They need to rest too.
“i dunno why boys who have such a long time in the industry should be compared with a bunch of girls who shows their butts and boobs and do sexually suggestive moves can be compared.”- queencrystallia
This made me laugh so much. I don’t hate AKB48 but I don’t like them too cause I “sometimes” think they are selling their bodies rather than their music. Though I must say, Beginner is really a nice song.

I’m not a delusional fan. I know that there will be a time when Arashi will “fall” from their peak but I’m just saying it’s not happening now. I mean Wild at Heart being their most selling single of their career and Tokyo Tower being lit with Arashi colors pretty much prove Arashi’s popularity.
The article is totally wrong. The truth is the fact that Cyzo is publishing this article is another proof of Arashi’s popularity. The media tends to choose articles that they think will sell. It is logically to think that Cyzo publish the article for the reason of Arashi having tons of fans and they are sure it will sell.

My final words: Article is full of irrelevant assumptions that don’t make any sense at all. I’m not saying that I don’t care cause I do hence I’m writing this. Just saying, article is stupid. Moving on~
On a lighter note, I have a new layout. I got the template from
thefulcrum while I made the “Jun’s piercing eyes” header. xD
