お久しぶりです!I'm back from hiding! Fandom's been wild as ever with all the concert, drama, and SP announcements going around. Anyways, I did say I was on semi-hiatus but I just couldn't resist translating a group interview. In this issue, they talk about each member's Atarashii Arashi project and something about Nino's birthday messages. You're gonna laugh at Aiba when you read this. (lol what's new?)

Credits: scans from miyase_files and dyan1219 for making me translate this. Haha! ありがぴょん!

I. So what plans have each of you put together? (Atarashii Arashi part)

-Please introduce some of the highlights and such of your plans for Atarashii Arashi.
A: I picked ingredients all by myself, ate them, and went to Dangan Studio. Even though it was so early in the morning, 3:45 am, people greeted me…
All: So early!
A: I took photos on Wangan Studio’s rooftop during daybreak then rode a plane to Kumamoto and Nagasaki. I ate watermelon and cooked rice in room temperature and it was really sweet! After that, I ate honey and Kurodai (Japanese black sea bream)…
O: (reacts to Kurodai) Did you catch it?
A: We caught it! In the forest.
J: He's really saying that it's from a beautiful sea, you know~
S: Wow, it must have been really tasty. *laughs*
J: After that, it became Aiba san’s habit to go to Kuishinbou! Banzai1, huh?
A: Oh no, no. Isn’t that a little severe? *laughs*
O: As for my on-shoot location, I went to the library. I was told I could do anything with the books so I did graffiti on it, along with Himura Yuuki san, Bakarizuzumu san and Honda Tsubasa san.
S: Hee~ But with that explanation, it’s still somewhat hard to imagine what you did.
O: Well, it’s not the usual graffiti you see around but it’s like graffiti art.
J: Doesn't it sound a little academic? The art student in Ohno san just surfaced, huh?
O: Hnnnn…yes!
All: *laughs*
O: Everyone, when you see it, don’t make a fuss about it.
S: As I thought, I still can’t imagine it. *laughs* When you finished the artwork, did you finish with an artistic touch? Or, did you do it like you were just playing around?
O: Ah, it’s both.
N: Did you have a time limit?
O: We didn't. Those who came were just people who could paint. After choosing a book, it was really hard to think of what we wanted to express. Himura san was the fastest… fufu~
J: Huh? What’s with that fufu just now? *laughs*
N: You’ll know when you watch it, right? *laughs*
-Matsumoto san’s was?
J: My theme was Challenge. I memorized my script and it was 8 pages worth. I then practiced on a stage every day in front of a live audience. There were around 300 people, maybe?
A: Eehh~?
J: It was like hell that day.
S: *laughs* It was really hard, huh? Were you alone?
J: I was alone all the time. I acted 5 different roles all by myself. I was supposed to do it without faltering or making any mistake delivering the lines. It was that kind of challenge.
S: So, were you successful?
J: Well, I want you to watch and find out for yourself~! *laughs*
N: I did a comical play with female performers.
-There haven’t been any photos of that ‘pep rally’ get-together out yet, though. *laughs*
J: It sounds really fun!
S: It’s really different from Matsujun’s, huh? *laughs*
-As to the preparation, what did Nino do?
N: I didn't do anything. I just drank sake at the meeting. I haven’t got anything prepared yet. *laughs* But my script’s over 10 pages worth too so I can’t ignore the work I need to do to memorize it, huh? I am very much excited for it.
-As for those plays, is it entirely different from the one’s you regularly do?
N: I think it’s different. I don’t know. The performers say it is. Though, most of them are comic play performers. They are really skillful but they don’t do drama plays.

II. The most puzzling message Nino received on his birthday (Nino's birthday part)

-Sho san’s is the only thing that we haven't seen yet, right?
S: Yes, I’ll only say that it’s about (Nino) making friends but I won’t say anything more!
A: It does make you feel uneasy, huh?
N: You just want me to not know anything even up to the point where I face the live audience, huh?
S: Yeah, that’s it. I've spent a whole day with those two famous people. I want you to meet them for the first time in front of the camera. I’ll still keep their gender and age obscure…I wonder how will it go? It would be great if you successfully make friends with them~
All: *laughs*
N: If I don’t, it will be like, ‘What the heck is with this program’, huh?
S: Even if you say that, the joint combo (the two famous people) frequently bump into the director. In the end, they became friends! *laughs*
J: Well, isn't that good! *laughs*
-Besides Atarashii Arashi, viewers also look forward to the "new" side of Arashi.
S: Our name being attached to the title does not have anything to do with the show but, now that you think of it, we did have a concert before with the same name. It was our 2002-2003 winter concert titled Shin Arashi, 新嵐. For the second time around, we put those two words together. I guess it's human nature to think that way.
N: 10 years ago was really a long time ago.
-Speaking of Atarashii Arashi, Nino san will face a new year.
J: Congratulations!
N: Thank you. I received my first birthday message from Aiba san but, you were drunk, right?
A: Uhhh, I think so.
N: Were you sleepy or were you drunk?…Feeling around, I took out my mobile phone. It was exactly when my birthday came, at around 12:14 am. It was the first one I received.
O: From the four of us?
N: Nope, from all of my friends.
A: Oh? Amazing.
N: (reads out loud) “I’m sorry if it’s midnight. I hope hope this year becomes good for you.”2
All: *roar of laughter*
N: I haven’t received any of those before. You only receive birthday greetings once a year so you back read them, you know. With what you've sent me, I will always see your typo.
S: I think he was just trying to go with what's in when it comes to text messaging. Like, "I hope hope tomorrow’s weather will be good~!"3
A: *laughs* Ah, it’s good isn't it. It will be forever etched in your memory.♡
N: I received messages from the other members as well. Thank you for this year too.

Notes:1 Kuishinbou! Banzai is a vegetarian restaurant in Tokyo.
2 "Yonaka gomen ne. Yoi ichinen ni narimasu you ni ni." - ~you ni is used when someone wishes for something. Aiba accidentally puts an extra ni.
3 "Ashita tenki ni narimasu you ni ni." - Sho mimics Aiba's typo.
